About the event
Cemetery Clean up
In recognition of the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary, the City of East Providence will host a series of volunteer events as part of Cemetery Awareness Weeks 2026, honoring the 148 Revolutionary War soldiers laid to rest in local cemeteries.
These events will serve as preparation for a larger commemorative program planned for the fall, which will both honor these veterans and raise awareness about the importance of preserving historic cemeteries as vital cultural resources.
Community members are invited to participate in a variety of hands-on preservation activities, including:
